After the introduction of a rear-wheel drive, turbocharged variant last year, the Ferrari GTC4 Lusso returns for 2019 essentially unchanged.
The Ferrari GTC4 Lusso with two available drivetrain choices. First, the GTC4 Lusso's ferocious V12 engine returns with a naturally aspirated 6.3L V12 that makes an astonishing 680 hp, and revs all the way to 8000 rpm creating a sound as iconic as the name it bears. This powerplant is matched with the 4RM Evo all-wheel-drive system and a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox with steering wheel mounted paddle shifters. 0-60 mph takes just 3.1 seconds and flat out, the GTC4 Lusso is capable of speeds in excess of 200 mph.
The other powertrain is available in rear wheel drive only, a 3.9L twin-turbo V8 paired with the same 7-speed dual clutch transmission in the GTC4 Lusso T. There the powerplant delivers 601 hp and a very healthy 561 lb-feet of torque. This enables the Lusso T to achieve a 3.6 second 0-60 mph and a top speed of 199 mph. Both Lusso trims are equipped with rear-wheel steering, which when integrated with Side Slip Control, makes for more responsiveness to steering inputs while entering and exiting corners.
The unique and sharp styling of the GTC4 hides thoroughly modern and exotic underpinnings. The chassis is a hybrid aluminum/carbon fiber that provides both rigidity and lightness. The steering wheel-mounted controls mimic Ferrari's F1 racing wheel with nearly all driving functions available at the driver's fingertips. Ferrari's famous manettino is one of those functions, a system that lets the driver select different performance settings with the turn of a switch, changing everything from the speed of up and downshifts to the amount of torque that's sent to each different wheel.
Electronically controlled magnetic shock absorbers allows the suspension to adapt to changing road conditions on the fly, offering drivers the option to get maximum traction and corning, or comfort no matter the road condition or weather.
Braking is handled by enormous aluminum Brembo Monobloc calipers and carbon ceramic rotors with anti-lock braking and optional electronic stability control for all four corners.
Options include 5 different colors for the brake calipers, 3 different 20-inch rims, a panoramic roof and even a choice of colors for the tachometer face.
